PAUL, Minn – The clock lingered for what seemed like an interminable two minutes and 51 seconds before Mark Fraser finally escaped to the bench during a wildly one-sided first period of an eventual loss to Boston.ANAHEIM, Calif. - When Mike Moustakas smacked a high fly into right field in the 11th inning, the Kansas City Royals No. 9 hitter had no idea whether it had enough juice to get out of the Big A.I knew I hit it pretty good, but that fence out there is pretty tall, the Los Angeles born-and-bred slugger said.Although this group of Royals only has two crazy games of playoff history, its becoming clear that good things happen to Kansas City in October. The Royals went a few more extra innings, withstood a few more scares and figured out another dramatic way to win a playoff game a€” thanks to the local boy.Moustakas homered leading off the 11th, and the Royals kept rolling in their first post-season in 29 years with a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels in their AL Division Series opener Thursday night.Kansas City had managed just two baserunners since the fifth inning when Moustakas hit the first extra-inning homer in post-season history for the Royals, a high shot off Fernando Salas that barely reached the elevated right-field stands at Angel Stadium. Its probably the biggest one Ive ever hit so far, said Moustakas, who had dozens of friends and family members in the Royals tiny cheering section. It felt really amazing.Game 2 in the best-of-five series is Friday night at the Big A, with Angels 16-game winner Matt Shoemaker taking on fellow rookie Yordano Ventura.Alcides Escobar had an early RBI double for the Royals, and their bullpen repeatedly escaped trouble in Kansas Citys first game since that spectacular, 12-inning comeback victory over Oakland in the wild-card playoff Tuesday night at Kauffman Stadium.Chris Iannetta and David Freese homered early in the Angels first playoff game since 2009, but the majors most productive offence stranded eight runners in the five innings before Greg Hollands perfect 11th.This is the type of game that we play, Royals manager Ned Yost said. We dont score a bunch of runs ... so we have a lot of confidence in our pitching.Winning pitcher Danny Duffy worked the 10th for Kansas City, and Holland picked up the save after arriving at the ballpark around the fourth inning. He went to North Carolina on the Royals off day to attend his childs birth.Mike Trout was 0 for 4 with a walk in his playoff debut. The favourite for AL MVP grounded into a fielders choice in the 10th before Albert Pujols popped out to end his 0-for-4 Angels playoff debut.Josh Hamilton popped up to end the game, capping his 0-for-5 return to the lineup. We had some guys in scoring position, just couldnt get that one hit, especially late, Angels manager Mike Sciosccia said. Shareef Abdur-Rahim Jersey. Those guys hung in there and got the big outs and got the big hit late. So we hit two home runs to keep ourselves in the game, but outside of that, we didnt really pressure those guys very much.Jered Weaver, Joe Smith and Huston Street combined to retire Kansas Citys final 15 batters before extra innings a€” and thats when the Royals went to work. Kevin Jepsen let two runners on in the 10th, but retired Salvador Perez and Omar Infante to escape.Salas wasnt as lucky, giving up a homer to a third baseman who grew up in the San Fernando Valley before making his big league debut and hitting his first homer in Anaheim three years ago.A raucous crowd banged balloons and cheered on the Angels throughout their post-season return after a half-decade away, but the fans got tense while the teams managed just three hits apiece in the first nine innings. Los Angeles earned home-field advantage throughout the post-season with a big league-best 98-64 record. The Royals cant match Los Angeles lineup on paper, but theyve got some remarkable post-season mojo.Even before Moustakas homer, Nori Aoki made dramatically awkward catches on the right-field warning track to end the sixth and seventh, twice making up for poor routes to the Angels drives with a last-instant stab. Lorenzo Cain also made two exceptional plays in centre field in the first two innings, underlining Kansas Citys stellar defence.Lorenzo Cain is one of the best centre fielders in baseball, and Aoki made some unbelievable plays, Moustakas said. We were able to cut their rallies down a little bit on some of the huge catches there in right field and centre field, and hats off to those guys.Weaver yielded three hits over seven strong innings for the Angels while Jason Vargas, his good friend and Long Beach State teammate, pitched six innings of three-hit ball for Kansas City.TRAINERS ROOMRoyals: RHP Kelvin Herrera walked Freese on five pitches leading off the seventh and then left the game with right forearm tightness. Herrera, a key member of Kansas Citys vaunted bullpen, will be re-evaluated Friday.Angels: Hamilton played left field and batted seventh after missing 21 of the Angels final 22 regular-season games with upper-body injuries.UP NEXTShoemaker (16-4, 3.04 ERA), the 28-year-old rookie who gets credit from Scioscia for saving the Angels season, makes his playoff debut. He hasnt pitched since Sept. 15, when he strained an oblique muscle. Kansas City counters with Ventura (14-10, 3.20), who struggled in the sixth inning of the wild-card game, but possesses a 100 mph fastball. cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseys cheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '

    • SURREY, B. Tampa Bay Lightning Jerseys China .C. - B.C. Lions general manager Wally Buono never saw it coming.Head coach Mike Benevides called the performance very, very disturbing.A little more than 24 hours after the Montreal Alouettes embarrassed the Lions 50-17 in the CFLs East Division semifinal, Buono and Benevides met the media on Monday to begin the autopsy on a season that started with the promise of another Grey Cup in their backyard and ended with a resounding thud. Was I in a state of shock (Sunday)? Yes, said Buono, choosing his words carefully. Would I ever would have imagined that would have occurred? No.What did I learn about our football club? I learned the fact that were not good enough and I learned the fact we have to do something about it.As was the case throughout much of 2014, B.C.s offence was unable to get anything going against Montreal, which will take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East final on Sunday.I was just so confident that we were going to go out and really play well and win a tough, close game on the road, said Buono. This is devastating. If its not devastating then you werent committed, you werent 100 per cent in.Kevin Glenn, who started 18 of the clubs 19 games this season in place of the injured Travis Lulay, was completely ineffective against the Alouettes, throwing for just 64 yards and two interceptions before getting the hook. When you have that kind of loss theres going to be a lot said and a lot of attention, and rightly so, said Benevides. To lose in that manner is very, very disturbing and certainly disappointing and all the adjectives you could come up with.In his three years as head coach of the Lions, Benevides has a record of 33 wins and 21 losses, but is 0 for 3 in playoff games. He was promoted from defensive co-ordinator to head coach after Buono moved into the front office on a full-time basis following the Lions Grey Cup victory in 2011.When asked if Benevides would be back in 2015, Buono responded with: Are any of us going to be back?Benevides said job security wasnt a concern, but added the 9-9 record and the crossover playoff spot wasnt good enough.Theres no doubt this business is about winning and Im clearly aware where thats at, he said. When I look at it, my goal is always to find a way to improve and get better and thats still where my focus is. But Im clearly aware of where were at — very disappointed. The Lions dealt with a number of injuries on offence throughout 2014. Lulay played just one game, running back Andrew Harris and wide receiver Courtney Taylor were lost for the season, and the offensive line was beat up for long stretches.Despite those losses and a defence that had played well for much of the season, but also gave up 70 points and more than 1,000 yards over the last two weeks of the regular season, Buono said he was already making plans to face Hamilton with a shot at the Grey Cup on the line.Instead, the players will meet on Tuesday for a final time before cleaning out their lockers. That team should have been good enough to execute better (against Montreal), said Buono. That team should have been good enough to be able to have a very competitive game. At the end of it ... they didnt.I think they were well prepared. Montreal didnt surprise me. They didnt surprise me in what they did, they just executed it better. The Lions will have to make a decision on what to do with Lulay and whether or not it can count on him to be healthy after he re-injured his surgically repaired shoulder in his only start of the season. The quarterback position of any team is critical, said Buono. Travis is the kind of guy that I believe you should be willing to not make a quick decision (with).B.C. finished fifth in total offence with 353.1 yards per game, but was just seventh in the passing attack (232.4 yards per game) and fourth in rushing (102.1 yards per game)Glenn — who was acquired from the Ottawa Redblacks at the draft as an insurance policy — finished second in the CFL behind Ricky Ray with 3,918 passing yards to go along with 17 touchdowns. But he also threw 17 interceptions — plus two more in the playoff debacle — and never really looked comfortable, often making critical mistakes in the red zone.Im disappointed for (Glenn) because I have a tremendous amount of respect for him, Benevides said of the impending free agent. Kevins been a soldier for 14 years. Hes won a lot of football games.Hes a heck of a warrior — a character guy.The Lions had point totals of 17, 16, 16, 9, 7, 7, 6 and 3 during the regular season, going just 1-7 in those games, which has led to questions about first-year offensive co-ordinator Khari Jones job security.Neither Benevides or Buono elaborate on the future of any players or coaches on Monday.I feel good about our roster, said Benevides. Its like anything else, its a matter of getting the group together, working hard in the off-season and coming up with a vision of who we need to be.We overcame some challenges and other ones we did not.A former player and coach, Buono said the blowout loss in Montreal didnt hurt more than any other, even with the Grey Cup set for B.C. Place Stadium in less than two weeks, a game the Lions will now watch like everyone else. The hollowness, the emptiness always feels the same, he said. This is my 42nd year in the Canadian Football League and Ive had seven happy endings. The game was very, very disappointing. I dont think the score is relative to the disappointment. I guess the score is relative to the embarrassment, to the anger, but not to the disappointment. Authentic Anton Stralman Jersey . In the tentative ruling, Superior Court Judge Michael Levanas sided with Sterlings estranged wife Shelly Sterling, who burst into tears when the ruling was announced. "I cant believe its over. I feel good," she said. Shelly Sterling negotiated the sale of the team after the 80-year-old billionaire was banned by the NBA for making offensive remarks about blacks. She sought approval from a probate judge for the deal she struck after removing her husband from the trust that owned the team when doctors found he had signs of Alzheimers disease and couldnt manage his affairs. Donald Sterling claimed his wife deceived him about the medical exams. He later revoked the trust after she negotiated the record-setting sales price and his lawyers argued that the move killed the deal. They said the case didnt belong in probate court because the trust had been dissolved. The ruling in Los Angeles County Superior Court is unlikely to put an end to the bizarre saga that began in April when a recording surfaced of Sterling scolding his young girlfriend for bringing black men to Clippers games. The NBA moved quickly to ban Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million. Sterling was apologetic after the audio recording went viral, but his mea culpa backfired when he criticized Lakers great Magic Johnson, who had been photographed with Sterlings girlfriend, as a bad role model for kids because he had HIV. Sterling was roundly criticized from locker rooms to the Oval Office, where President Barack Obama called Sterlings remarks "incredibly offensive racist statements." With the NBA threatening to seize the team and auction it, Sterling initially gave his wife of 58 years permission to negotiate a sale but then refused to siign it. Authentic Cedric Paquette Jersey. He said he would sue the league instead and then revoked the trust. The nonjury trial held over several weeks focused mainly on whether Shelly Sterling properly removed her husband as a trustee and whether her actions carried any weight after he revoked the trust. Donald Sterlings lawyers contended that his wife and her lawyers conspired to trick him and that the mental exams by two doctors were faulty. They said Sterling didnt know his competency as a trustee was being evaluated and that he showed no signs of incompetence on the witness stand. In combative testimony, Sterling said he would "never, ever sell" the team he bought in 1981 for about $12 million. He vowed to fight the NBA in court until the day he dies. Before taking the stand, he kissed his wife and then testified that he loved her. But the following day when she approached him in court he yelled, "get away from me, you pig!" Sterling, a lawyer who made a fortune as a landlord, has filed an antitrust lawsuit in federal court against the NBA and he sued his wife, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and the league in state court. Lawyers for Shelly Sterling and Ballmer had urged the judge to let the sale go through because it was in the best interest of the family trust. They said an auction was less likely to bring such a high price and that coach Doc Rivers, key players and sponsors were likely to walk if Donald Sterlings ownership was prolonged. "The trust has a golden bird in the hand," Shelly Sterlings lawyers wrote in court papers. "A sale of the Clippers for $2 billion is indisputably a bonanza for the Sterling family. Donalds strident opposition is motivated by only selfish considerations." Donald Sterling said he could get more for the team by also selling TV rights and through his $9 billion suit against the league. ___ AP Special Correspondent Linda Deutsch contributed to this story. cheap falcons jerseys cheap ravens jerseys cheap bills jerseys cheap bears jerseys cheap bengals jerseys cheap cowboys jerseys cheap lions jerseyscheap texans jerseys cheap colts jerseys cheap jaguars jerseys cheap chiefs jerseys cheap rams jerseys cheap dolphins jerseys cheap vikings jerseys cheap saints jerseys cheap giants jerseys cheap jets jerseys cheap eagles jerseys cheap steelers jerseys cheap 49ers jerseys ' ' '

Browns coach Mike Pettine made the announcement Wednesday, deciding to keep Hoyer in the starters role over Johnny Manziel for Sundays game against Indianapolis. After thorough evaluation and talking to the staff, we feel Brian gives us the best opportunity to win on Sunday, said Pettine in a statement on the clubs website. This is a football decision and those are always going to be based on what we think is best for our team. Hoyer was benched early in the fourth quarter of last Sundays 26-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Manziel stepped in and engineered an 8-play, 80-yard drive that he capped with a 10-yard touchdown scramble. Manziel ended the game 5-of-8 for 63 yards, forcing the Browns into a critical decision about the teams future of the quarterback position. Hoyer completed just 18-of-30 passes ffor 192 yards and two interceptions before being benched. Authentic JJ Redick Jersey. Hes our starter going into this game. The Browns are 7-5 heading into Sundays contest with the Colts and are tied with five other teams for the final AFC wild card spot. Brian has led our team to a 7-5 record, Pettine added. Im confident that we can get the entire offense playing at the level needed to accomplish the goals we set at the beginning of the season. Those goals are still very much attainable. Playoff appearances: 1 in 2 seasons. ESPN Analytics r茅sum茅 grade: 2.60 (45th among active coaches). Like Francona and Maddon, Pederson’s approval rating was high among our respondents thanks to his ability to reach a seemingly unconquerable plateau for a long-starving fan base. Pederson’s place on future versions of this list has a high degree of volatility -- if he stacks titles or at least playoff appearances in Philly, his star will continue to rise.Carson Wentz gives Eagles hope for second half of 2018 season - BGNThere is one big reason to believe the Eagles can turn things around and make a playoff push. Four words: Carson MF Wentz. The Eagles’ franchise quarterback is off to a such a strong start in 2018. He’s completing 70.7% of his attempts for 1,788 yards (7.9 average), 13 touchdowns, two interceptions, and a 109.6 passer rating. Let’s put those numbers into historical context.Eagles Mid-Season Report Card - BGN RadioMichael Kist and Brandon Lee Gowton take the bye week at the mid-point of the season to reset and get you up-to-date on injuries and hand out their mid-season report card for the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles, PLUS more Golden Tate thoughts and NFC East Picks!Eagles likely to play ‘the compensatory pick game’ (again) next offseason - PhillyVoiceLB Jordan Hicks: If there’s a player currently slated to become a free agent that the Eagles would like to keep above all others, it would probably be Hicks, provided he stays healthy for the entirety of the 2018 season. To date, Hicks has not yet missed a snap this season, and while he hasn’t been the playmaker he was early in his career, I believe the team thinks he still possesses that kind of ability.NFL Midseason Power Rankings: The Rams Aren’t Flawless, but They’re Still No. 1 - The Ringer8. Philadelphia Eagles (4-4). Ranking the Eagles this high is more about lingering respect than their play over the first half of the season, but I’m still not ready to write the champs off. Carson Wentz has been exceptional in his past few outings, and the Eagles’ passing game should only get better with the addition of Golden Tate. A pass-catching group of Tate, Alshon Jeffery, Nelson Agholor, Zach Ertz, and Dallas Goedert has the potential to be a nightmare for opposing defenses. Unfortunately, the Eagles defense has also been a nightmare at times this season. Philadelphia failed to find any cornerback help at the trade deadline, so the team will field the same uninspiring group on the back end for the second half of the season. This defense may never come around http://www.philadelphiaeaglesteamonlines.com/lane-johnson-jersey , but I’m still willing to bet on this loaded roster beating out the other teams in the NFC East.All-22: How the Eagles will deploy Golden Tate in Doug Pederson’s offense - The AthleticI wouldn’t expect Tate to put up monster numbers in Philadelphia with a trade this late in the season, but he could be one of the best “gadget” players in the league. The Lions offense doesn’t have a lot of variety. They utilize a lot of straight drop-back plays. Pederson has proven that he can be one of the more creative play designers in the league and could unlock some of Tate’s potential. It’ll be interesting to see how Pederson deploys his new weapon. Tate isn’t going to change the dynamic of this offense, but he certainly adds a new dimension that could be dangerous down the road if the Eagles get into the playoffs.Carson Wentz at Eagles bye week: Birds’ QB a human stat machine - NBCSPCarson Wentz is doing things no quarterback has ever done. And he’s doing it coming off an ACL injury that ended his 2017 season, eliminated his 2018 preseason and kept him out of the first two games of the year. Wentz goes into the bye week having completed 71 percent of his passes for 1,788 yards with 13 touchdowns, two interceptions and a 109.6 passer rating in his six starts. The dude is a human stat machine, so let’s take a look at the numbers!Didinger: The One Move Joe Kuharich Got Right - PE.comMention the name Joe Kuharich to most Eagles fans and you’ll get a roll of the eyes, maybe even a groan. Kuharich was the Eagles’ head coach and general manager from 1964 through 1968, one of the bleakest periods in the team’s history. It ended with the Philly fans famously chanting “Joe Must Go” and, yes, throwing snowballs at Santa Claus. In his role as general manager, Kuharich made some awful trades, including dealing away future Hall of Famers Sonny Jurgensen and Tommy McDonald as well as Pro Bowl Eagles Timmy Brown, Maxie Baughan, and Irv Cross. So when he traded for a 34-year-old running back named Ollie Matson, most Eagles fans assumed it was another Kuharich blunder.Win predictions for all 32 NFL teams heading into Week 9 - PFFWins: 8.6. The Phillies have long been rumored to have interest in Harper or Machado, and it is highly likely the team will pursue at least one, if not both. But they won’t be the only players the team goes after this winter. If you’re crawling out of your skin with excitement you’re not alone. Here’s what we know so far......Social Media Information:BGN Facebook Page: Click here to like our pageBGN Twitter: Follow @BleedingGreenBGN Manager: Brandon Lee Gowton: Follow @BrandonGowtonBGN Radio Twitter: Follow @BGN_RadioTakeaways from Doug Pederson’s press conference: Jalen Mills, personnel changes, and more Well, it wasn’t pretty, and there’s plenty of blame to spread around for the Eagles overtime loss to the Titans in Week 4, including the somewhat surprisingly conservative (read: boring) play calling from Doug Pederson. The head coach spoke to the media on Monday to recap what went wrong for the Philadelphia team, and whether they expect to return any of their injured players ahead of next Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are looking for revenge from last year’s playoff and the Eagles will need to bring their “A” game in order to get back on the winning side of things. Here’s what the head coach had to say:On the loss to the TitansHe was asked about the red zone snaps on Sunday and whether there was a common thread in not getting into the endzone. Pederson talked about having some negative-yard plays, not being able to shoot the ball down field and penalties all being contributing factors.“Bottom line, you can’t make mistakes in the redzone.”He talked about the team putting themselves into opportunities to score by getting down there, but they need to do more offensively to make the most of those changes.Pederson also elaborated on the lack of big throws, and says its a combination of protection and all the different offensive weapons, including the quarterback. He said looking back at the film there is improvement needed by all three of those aspects. He was then asked about giving up three fourth downs http://www.eaglescheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-corey-graham-jersey , including the 4th and 15, and Pederson didn’t hesitate to say “we know that can’t happen”.He also acknowledged if that 4th and 15 didn’t happen, the Eagles would have put the game away right then and would be celebrating Victory Monday 3-1. He did say it’s all fixable and coachable, and that it’s not an issue related to scheme. On Jalen MillsPederson was asked about Jalen Mills and what some of the cause for his performance so far this season.“Well, it’s tough,” said Pederson. “I mean, these corners are on islands a lot. I think, too, I look at it from an offensive perspective. That when you see a guy that maybe you can attack, you attack. And I think that’s what offenses are doing right now.”“He’s a good player. We have a lot of confidence in him. He has a lot of confidence in himself. A lot of it just comes down to detail the work. And understand the situation, what teams are going to try to do against you, understanding that, and trying to use that as a strength. He’s working through it. He’ll get better. And we’ll get better as a team.”Pederson was later asked whether teams targeting them deep is scheme related or personnel related, the head coach noted it wasn’t the scheme. He continued to talk about how until the Eagles prove they can stop it, opposing team’s will keep challenging them down the field — pointing out specifically, “You saw Tampa Bay do it, now you saw Tennessee do it”.The media dug a little deeper and asked then if that meant it was personnel related. In what probably wasn’t supposed to be, but really was, a dig at Mills, Pederson said that it wasn’t really personnel related, but moreso each man understand their job and doing it a little better.Later in his press conference he clarified that he didn’t think offenses were attacking Mills specifically, but rather the defense as a whole. He talked about allowing enough big plays at this point in the season that opposing teams think they can take advantage of a struggling secondary. On making personnel decisionsThe head coach was asked how he chooses which personnel moves to make — or not — related to some of those mistakes on defense. Pederson talked about this being a team sport and in all three phases Malcolm Jenkins Jersey , the Eagles as a whole need to get more efficient. He continued to talk about how the coaches have a tough job to take an overall look at efficiency of players and positions before arbitrarily swapping people out. If you start moving people around, it in turns move others guys around, and it can get messy.Pederson noted that they are going to take the next few days to evaluate everyone, including the coaching staff, and see if there’s a change to made. If there is, they’ll make it, and if not, they’ll leave it alone. At the end of the day though, he admitted that they can coach a little bit better and get the guys prepared to play. Pederson also noted that they make these personnel assessments each week as they review film from the game before. He also noted that they aren’t making any moves at safety just yet, but they are bringing in some guys to look at on Monday afternoon and then they’ll make a decision that’s best for the team.In the meantime, Avonte Maddox was moved to yet another new position as a first-year player, and while it might put some extra pressure on the rookie, Pederson noted that is what these guys are asked to do. Especially for the Eagles, the guys in the secondary are often asked to cover in different roles. On self-inflicted mistakesPederson said it’s important for the team to understand how to play as Champions. Players and coaches with the Philadelphia Eagles have certain expectations, and when they aren’t living up to those expectations, they need to zero in on what they can fix and figure out why.He said the sense of urgency needs to be heightened at the moment. Pederson was sure to note that it’s not time to panic just yet, but it’s a heightened awareness of where we are as a football team and where they want to get to. They have to eliminate the penalties and turnovers, which are coming at the wrong time — although he noted there’s never a right time for those errors. On injury updatesPederson said that Jason Kelce does not have a knee injury, and has been wearing the knee brace since the first game of the season.

    • Officially http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/christian-covington-jersey , Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has a chest injury, with which he fully participated in practice on Wednesday. Meeting with reporters on Wednesday, Watson was asked about a tweet that he retweeted. The retweeted tweet said that Watson played with a partially collapsed lung and a broken rib against the Cowboys. Specifically, Watson was asked what it was like playing with a partially collapsed lung and a broken rib. nyone who has had a broken rib knows that it doesn’t quickly or magically heal. Besides, Watson officially has a chest injury http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/kareem-jackson-jersey , which could include the broken (or not) rib. Either way, Watson insists that he’s fine ain, I just refer to the injury report,” O’Brien said.A broken rib causes intense pain and discomfort. It hurts to cough. It hurts to laugh. It hurts to sneeze. It hurts to have hiccups. It hurts to breathe. And it definitely hurts to get hit there again. So either Watson never had a broken rib or he’s living, practicing, and playing with an injury that has to be creating plenty of problems for him Womens Julien Davenport Jersey , pretty much all the time.If it’s the latter, those problems could be exacerbated by a Jacksonville defense that is more than capable of getting to Watson, repeatedly. I had the chance to speak with Tim Lynch from Mile High Report to ask some questions and concerns I had about his Denver Broncos as they host the Texans on Sunday. The MVP of Super Bowl 50 is still playing at an elite level.Photo by Norm Hall/Getty ImagesWhat impact has Von Miller had on young stud Bradley Chubb so far? What about the rookie has impressed you the most as we hit the midway point of the season?Tim: Von has taken on a DeMarcus Ware-like role with Chubb. The two have great chemistry already, combining for 15 total sacks in eight games. Chubb had himself a fantastic October after starting out a bit slow early in the season by winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month Award. I think in a year or two, Miller will still be elite with Chubb hitting his peak. That’s when I would expect them to really terrorize the league, but so far so good. Now that Demaryius Thomas is gone, how excited should Broncos fans be about Courtland Sutton going forward and why?Tim: Remember the name Courtland Sutton. Pick him up in your fantasy leagues. His timing to hit the high point to catch the ball is amazing. Add that to some incredible hands and you have a player who looks like he is going to be a superstar in this league. Thomas was a great Bronco for nine years and will end up in the Broncos’ Ring of Fame, but he is not the Thomas he once was and he was taking reps away from a rookie who is on the verge of breaking out. It was a good business decision, but most of us fans will miss Thomas as he was a great presence in that locker room. Do you think that Case Keenum can thrive like he did last season in Minnesota if the organization puts the right pieces around him? Or do you think Elway needs to continue searching for a quarterback through the draft?Tim: The search for a quarterback is on. However, we’ve also got to live in this moment. I am sure Case Keenum could be a fine quarterback with proper playcalling and such, but I’ve been left disappointed by Bill Musgrave and his inability to clone the style of playcalling that led to Keenum’s success in Minnesota. Instead http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/bruce-ellington-jersey , he sticks to the kind of playcalling that Keenum has historically struggled in, which would be straight shotgun type formation where Keenum must stand in the pocket and make a decision. Keenum’s best pass ratings comes from play action and/or moving out of the pocket, neither of which has been a significant factor in the plays Musgrave has called. Several articles have come out on various sources discussing whether Vance Joseph should be on the hot seat. Do you believe the Broncos might need a culture change or should he have a longer leash?Tim: With Hue Jackson out in Cleveland, there is no seat hotter than Vance Joseph’s. The Broncos would need to rebound and make a playoff run to save Joseph’s job at this point. Even a 5-3 finish to a .500 record won’t save him, I don’t think. The players who have a ring on this roster are pretty much fed up with losing. What is your prediction for Sunday’s matchup? Who wins, what is the score, and who shines?Tim: The Broncos cannot seem to beat good football teams, and I view the Houston Texans as a good football team. I think Denver will figure out a way to lose another close, frustrating game.Case Keenum will be looking to bring his team back out of a 3-5 hole on Sunday.Photo by Jamie Squire/Getty ImagesWhat’s your prediction for Sunday’s game?

    • Steelers vs. Chiefs Week 2: 2nd quarter in-game update 1st Quarter In-Game UpdateTo start the second quarter Stephon Tuitt Jersey , the Steelers’ offense finally decided to start putting together a performance more reminiscent of the Pittsburgh offense most expected.  After forcing Kansas City to punt for the first time in the game, Ben Roethlisberger started to claw the team back into the game on his own. Roethlisberger orchestrated an 11-play 85-yard drive which ended in a touchdown pass to JuJu Smith-Schuster. However, Boswell’s struggles continued with a missed point-after, making the score 21-13.Getting the football with just over 3-minutes left in the half, Pittsburgh was able to move the ball into Kansas City territory after big completions to Jesse James and a defensive pass interference call on the Chiefs. With 24-seconds remaining in the half Authentic Cameron Heyward Jersey , and inside the red-zone, Roethlisberger found rookie James Washington for a touchdown to move the Steelers within two points of the Chiefs. Pittsburgh went for two, to tie the game, and Roethlisberger hit James Conner in the flat to tie the game 21-21.The score would hold heading into halftime with the Chiefs due to get the football to start the third quarter. Is Landry Jones really gone? Or is this nothing more than smoke and mirrors? There was a huge celebration with many members of Steeler Nation when the news hit the wire of Steelers backup quarterback Landry Jones failing to make the 53-Man roster. From Charleroi to Shamokin, and all points in between, fans reveled in the career demise of a 29-year old New Mexican (with the pleasant demeanor of a labradoodle) as if an oppressive dictator was brought down in a coup with a boom box and the best of Megadeth on cassette.Meanwhile on my couch, I smelled something funny. True my dog had just gotten into the garbage and polished off three-day old Chinese cuisine Youth Ramon Foster Jersey , but something made my Spidey senses tingle like like Pop Rocks massage oil in the nether regions. Could this all be a ruse? Now, it’s true that I love a good conspiracy theory from fake news to magic bullets to aliens among us to Paul McCartney being dead and Elvis never dying...I have no problem pondering any explanation that makes references to hidden, malevolent forces seeking to advance some nefarious aim. But my own idiotic black-and-gold mind has me inclined to think No. 3 will be backing up Ben Roethlisberger in Week One.Now, I’m not denying Joshua Dobbs or Mason Rudolph could be the heir apparent to Big Ben. I’m not suggesting their talent and higher ceiling doesn’t measure higher than that of Mr. Jones. But what I can’t quite come to grips with is that the Rooney Family, Kevin Colbert and Mike Tomlin actually were willing to roll the dice with passers who have zero combined pass attempts in regular season action should their franchise quarterback succumb to injury. I read all of your comments that if No. 7 goes down, the season is over. Truthfully some of you may crumble into the fetal position when faced with adversity, but NFL front offices and coaching staffs usually refrain from that very practice. There was a thought Landry would be kept around for that exact scenario. Since he’s been cut http://www.steelersauthorizedshops.com/authentic-marcus-gilbert-jersey , the decision flies in the face of the typical Steeler thought process. Here’s my thinking. The Steelers wanted to keep Jones all along, and were willing to part ways with Dobbs, but not without proper compensation. Other teams had designs on the rocket scientist as well, but knew he would become available and the Steelers wouldn’t keep four QBs like they did in 1995. (I know they did so in 2010, but Ben was suspended. That was different.) They gambled on getting Dobbs for free. I also think they may have gambled in exposing the Oklahoma product. But maybe they let him in on the scheme beforehand. If this whole scenario I’m imagining did occur, they would receive higher return than losing a player they spent a fourth rounder on just a year ago. Dobbs, for sure David DeCastro Jersey , would have never been allowed by other organizations to join the Pittsburgh Practice Squad.Look, I’m cool with the move in keeping the players they decided to keep. I would respect the scam I’m accusing them of perpetrating. Maybe all of this is an excuse to quote Billy Joel. “You may be right. I may be crazy. It just might be a lunatic you’re looking for” may just describe my irrational rationale. But then again, it can happen. And we all know that I’ll never let any of us forget it.

    • I don’t think of myself as being a particularly canny or fervent Football Knower; however Youth Jon Bostic Jersey , as someone who disseminates their (usually poor) sports takes on the internet, I think it’s important to possess at least a baseline awareness of the various goings-on around the NFL.The Chiefs are very good. Todd Gurley and Patrick Mahomes, the MVP co-frontrunners of the Rams and Chiefs, respectively, are very good. The Cardinals are very bad. The Giants are very bad, but their offensive skill players—quarterback notwithstanding—are very good. Et cetera. The Cleveland Browns, a team that’s lost 36 of its past 40 games (relatedly, yikes), might be good? They’re 2-4-1, yes, but they should’ve beaten the Steelers, currently the top team in the AFC North, and they definitely should’ve beaten the Saints, a team that looks every bit the contender that the Rams and Chiefs do. Indeed, the Browns have been in every game, save for a 38-14 rout at the hands of the red-hot Chargers, and they taken four opponents to overtime already. That’s wild! I’ve said on the record that steadfastly assembling a surplus of nebulous draft capital isn’t the shrewdest or most pragmatic team-building strategy, especially when the hoarders have a notorious and hilarious track record of ineptitude when it comes to actually creating a functional and cohesive roster. But these Browns do have a number of promising homegrown franchise centerpieces, including tight end David Njoku, linebacker Joe Schobert, Von Miller clone Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward—who seven games into his NFL career looks like Champ frickin’ Bailey—and Womens Cameron Heyward Jersey , shockingly, Baker Mayfield, the no. 1 overall pick. Mayfield initially struck me as someone with a Drew Brees ceiling and a Johnny Manziel floor, so it’s encouraging—truly it is; this franchise has suffered for too long—to see that he’s been cast somewhere near the centermost point on that vast spectrum, at least for the time being. Alas, 2018 looks like a bridge year for Cleveland, as was probably intended anyway. For all of the strides they’ve made over the course of a single offseason, the Browns still have their fair share of deficiencies (the receiving corps, for instance, is laughably thin). Of course, the most pronounced malignancy currently plaguing this iteration of the Cleveland Browns is head coach Hue Jackson, who is quite literally one of the worst NFL head coaches in NFL history. One hundred and seventy nine coaches in league history coached 50 or more games; Jackson’s .209 career win percentage ranks 178th (oh, wow, who is that at number 15 on that list...). Jackson shouldn’t be allowed to coach a peewee team, let alone a professional football franchise, one whose once-storied history is now a fart in the wind. Hue Jackson makes Marvin Lewis look like Vince Lombardi. Jackson is not devoid of confidence, however. Indeed, despite willing just there games in Cleveland in his going-on three seasons there as head coach, Jackson wants to “help” the offense, which is currently being tended to by former Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley. Ripping on Todd Haley is a beloved pastime of this blog, but it isn’t a coincidence that the Steelers offense evolved from a plodding, turgid dumpster fire that activity aided in weekly assassination plots formulated against Ben Roethlisberger into a volcanic Youth Alejandro Villanueva Jersey , high-scoring outfit that powered the Steelers to four consecutive postseason appearances under his tutelage. Now, Mayfield, Jarvis Landry, and rookie running back Nick Chubb are all nice players, but this triumvirate can’t hold a candle to the Killer B’s, so it isn’t fair to put the recent stagnation of Cleveland’s offense entirely on Haley’s shoulders. I hope Jackson does assume more playcalling responsibilities; him doing so will all but guarantee a Steelers win this Sunday. The game: Steelers 30, Browns 21I don’t know, I feel like the Steelers are going to score a lot on Sunday. They’re coming off a bye, which followed a thrilling last-second victory against Cincinnati the week prior, which was exactly the kind of victory the Steelers needed to recalibrate their whole operation and proceed with a renewed sense of confidence, or something. Pittsburgh collected seven sacks in the aforementioned tie against Cleveland in Week 1, but did so with the erstwhile Tyrod Taylor under center. Mayfield is, to put bluntly, is less deliberate in his decision-making than Taylor, which probably means the Steelers will have a helluva time replicating those incredible sack figures. This isn’t to say that Mayfield is careless, however. He’s thrown five interceptions this season and his accuracy figure (57%) isn’t awesome, but neither figure is really reflective of the kind of quarterback he is. Mayfield’s foremost hallmark—the thing that enabled him to ascend to the top of the draft in the first place—is his ability to command an offense, putting the football exactly where he wants to go. If the coaches actually develop a decent offensive gameplan, the Browns should have enough firepower to keep this game interesting. I don’t think it will be that interesting. Landry notwithstanding, the offense doesn’t really have any dangerous impact players (also—blistering hot take—Landry is a marginally more exciting Wes Welker, so it’s not like he’s gonna turn the tides of the game alone) and Pittsburgh’s offensive skill players shouldn’t have too many issues exploiting the Browns defense. Most of all, Ben Roethlisberger is playing at home against a team he always beats. I think the Steelers are a safe bet this week. The Steelers scored early and often in their Thursday night match up with the Carolina Panthers. After trailing 0-7 Womens Artie Burns Jersey , the Steelers only needed 0:24 to go up 14–7. As the points mounted up, the 2018 Steelers put themselves in elite company within one of the NFL’s most historic franchises. The following are how the Steelers scoring compares to their all-time franchise marks, both regular season and playoffs, as the game progressed:1st Quarter: 21 points This point total is tied for the second most points the Steelers have scored in the opening quarter of a game. In Week 4 of 2016, the Steelers scored 22 points against the Kansas City Chiefs at Heinz Field. The Steelers have scored 21 first quarter points five other times in their history, including home games in 2013, 2004, 1995, and 1990. The Steelers also scored 21 points in the first quarter in Cleveland in 1979. In every one of these 6 games, the Steelers’s were victorious by at least 10 points.Halftime: 31 points Before tonight, the Steelers scored 31 points in the first half in 11 games including the post season. The most points the Steelers have ever had in the first half of a game was 38 in 1973 against San Diego. This was the sixth time the Steelers scored 31 points by half time, and every time the Steelers have eclipsed this mark they have gone on to win the game by at least two touchdowns.End of the 3rd Quarter: 45 pointsThursday night was the third time the Steelers have scored exactly 45 points after three quarters, which is third on their all-time list. The Steelers scored 50 points by the end of the third in 1966 and 48 points in 1954. When reaching this point total before reaching the fourth quarter, the Steelers ‘ have been victorious every time by a minimum of 20 points.Final: 52 pointsSteelers reached 52 points in a game for the first time since 1984 against San Diego, and for the fifth time in their history. The team record for points in a game is 63 against the New York Giants in 1953. The other times the Steelers have reached 52 points was in 1954 with 55 points against Cleveland and in 1966 with 57 points in Atlanta. Of these five games, the smallest margin of victory it was 24 points.Since the inaugural season of Heinz Field in 2001, Thursday night’s scoring output of 52 points was the most the Steelers have scored in their current home stadium. The Steelers spent the last 14:55 of the game wisely being more concerned about preserving player health than scoring more points in a game which was obviously out of reach. If not, Steelers may have set the all-time franchise record for points scored in a single game.

It is a great place to be. The Grove is always nice and it is a fantastic week. A win would be incredible and very special. The state of my game is not great at the moment, it has been improving - I need to play well this week and next week and hopefully the home soil and British crowds can inspire me a little to find some form.Whenever you can be at home, stay in your own bed, play a course you are relatively familiar with, it is perfect. If you could do that every week it would be brilliant. Canada looked uncomfortable defensively throughout the game, and every free kick that came into Canadas penalty box looked like ending up in the back of the net.PHOENIX - Adrian Gonzalez must love it when he sees the word "Arizona" on the opposing uniform. Chances are hes in for a big night. Gonzalez did it again Saturday night, hitting a two-run homer to help the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Diamondbacks 8-5. Zack Greinke (3-0) scattered eight hits but allowed one run in 5 1-3 innings for Los Angeles. Gonzalez, who had a two-run homer and five RBIs in the series opener Friday, followed that up with a shot to the left-field seats off Wade Miley (2-2) with two outs in the third inning. Gonzalez has 26 career home runs and 84 RBIs against the Diamondbacks, most of any active player in both categories. He left without talking to reporters on Saturday, but said the previous night he had no good explanation for the success. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said in a career players just have opponents like that. "Theres nothing like good vibes," he said. "You walk into a building and know youve swung the bat good there. There is something to that. You walk in feeling good because you have good memories. A place you go and youve been shut out for five years, you dont have the same type of feeling." The Dodgers scored 14 runs in the first two games of the series. "I think Arizona is just a good place to hit," Mattingly said. "You see the ball good here. We have one more day here and then you end up in AT&T (in San Francisco) and the ball doesnt carry and its not the same. But we have swung the bats well. A lot of contributions from different people." Greinke succeeded even though he was not at his best. "Its nice to have a pitch that you can just go to at any time," he said. "I didnt really have that today. But there was a lot of usable pitches." Miley gave up five runs and eight hits in five innings. A.J. Pollock had a pinch-hit homer for the Diamondbacks, who scored three in the ninth off Brandon League, two on Mark Trumbos two-out double. Yasiel Puig had a pair of singles, driving in a run. The Dodgers, who have won four of five, got the leadoff batter on base five times in the first six innings, three via walks, and four of them scored. Arizona fell to 3-9. "We dont like losing," manager Kirk Gibson said. "It never makes you feel good. Guys are pressing. They are trying to do well and reverse this cycle, this trend. When it continues to happen it is frustrating." Los Angeles scored twice without an out in the second inning. Gonzalez drew a leadoff walk, Scott Van Slyke doubled to put runners at second and third, and Uribe singled to bring both of them home. Puig led off the third with a single, then with two outs Gonzalez homered to make it 4-0 and give the slugger seven RBIs in the first 12 innings of the series. Los Angeles added a fifth run in the fourth. Justin Turner led off with a double and scored on Puigs two-out single. Arizona finally got a run after being blanked for the first 13 innings of the series when Pollock led off the fifth with a home run to the porch in right-centre, his first career pinch-hit homer. The Dodgers got an unearned run without a hit in the sixth. Oliver Perez walked Drew Butera to start the inning. Greinkes bunt advanced the runner to second, then Butera scored when third baseman Martin Prado couldnt handle Matt Kemps sharp grounder. J.J. Putz walked Hanley Ramirez with the bases loaded and two outs in the eighth to make it 7-1. Cliff Pennington singled in Arizonas second run in the eighth. Its a good point for us, said Ivory Coast captain Yaya Toure, who recently won his fourth African player of the year award. We have a couple of games coming, and I hope we will do well in them. The draws leave all four teams in Group D with one point. On Saturday, Ivory Coast will take on Mali and Cameroon will face Guinea.Gervinho had been Ivory Coasts best player, or least the one with the best chances, until a scuffle with Baissama Sankoh during an off-the-ball incident earned him a straight red in the 57th minute. With 10 men it was very hard, said Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard, who led Zambia to the African Cup title in 2012. I think the players did very well in the different organization (after the sending off).Doumbia, who came on in the 66th as the tactics changed, scored from in front of goal in the 72nd after a pass from Wilfried Bony. Toure was the one who started the play.Guinea had taken the lead in the 36th when Ibrahima Traore crossed to Mohamed Yattara.Traore then had a chance to double the lead in the 61st but his shot hit the crossbar. Were not happy, because we know we could win this game, Traore said. Were going to keep working hard. At the end we will win and we will qualify, because as I said we are not afraid of anyone. In the second match, Oyongo latched onto to a long pass from Raoul Loe in the 84th and beat Mali goalkeeper Soumaila Diakite in a fast-paced game that had several missed chances at both ends.Sambou Yatabare had given Mali a surprising lead in the 71st, controling the ball with his chest and scoring from a tight angle after a free kick on the other side of the field. The manner we played this match, especially the second half, it was the manner to win the game, Cameroon coach Volker Finke said. The goal of Mali was a matter of concentration. The players were not concentrated.Cameroon, which conceded only one goal in qualifying, had chances earlier in the game but lacked quality finishing. One of the more entertaining moments came in the 57th minute when Cameroon forward Edgar Salli bounced the ball several times on his head to evade defenders but was eventually brought down just outside the box. Authentic Semyon Varlamov Jersey . About seven hours before facing Washington in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference second round series, team officials said the oft-injured Bynum would miss the rest of the playoffs and would not even be with the team for the rest of the post-season. Authentic Adam Foote Jersey . -- Howie Kendrick had a two-run single in his first game batting leadoff this season, Chris Iannetta hit a pair of RBI singles and the Los Angeles Angels beat Cleveland 6-4 Tuesday night, sending the Indians to their fifth straight defeat.BARCELONA, Spain -- A first-half goal from Karim Benzema guided Real Madrid to a 1-0 win at Espanyol in the first leg of their Copa del Rey quarterfinal on Tuesday. Nine days after Madrid eked out a 1-0 victory at Espanyols Cornella-El Prat Stadium in the Spanish league, the visitors were again limited to the narrowest of winning margins -- despite dominating the first half, when Cristiano Ronaldo hit the post before Benzema headed home in the 25th minute. The second half was more evenly matched and Espanyols Sergio Garcia came close to an equalizer before Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas denied Jhon Cordoba in a one-on-one in the 83rd minute. "Espanyol played better in the second half and made us suffer, but that is normal," Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said. "The tie isnt decided." Casillas had a quiet first half, with Espanyol only mustering one clear scoring chance in the 18th when Luis "Pizzi" Afonso wasted Garcias pass by sailing his close-range shot over the crossbar. Early on, Ronaldo appeared eager as ever to add to his season tally of 31 goals in all competitions. He had four shots before halftime and hit the post with one of them in the 21st minute, but the new Ballon dOr winner faded in the second half. Authentic Rob Ramage Jersey. Benzema broke the deadlock when the France international headed a cross from Alvaro Arbeloa that was flicked on by Gareth Bale. Goalkeeper Kiko Casilla got a hand on the ball but couldnt keep it out. Espanyol pressed forward after halftime and Garcia twice shot wide, while Casilla stopped Arbeloa twice before denying Benzema on the break. The closing stages swung back in Espanyols favour and Casillas was forced to rush out to stop substitute Cordoba before weathering a final barrage of corner kicks. Ancelotti praised Casillas, who only starts in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, while Diego Lopez plays in the Spanish league. "I want to congratulate Casillas because he is playing well," Ancelotti said. "Iker is just as much a starter as Diego Lopez." In other first legs this week, Barcelona visits Levante on Wednesday, when third-tier Racing Santander plays at Real Sociedad. Defending champion Atletico Madrid hosts Athletic Bilbao on Thursday. The second legs will be played next week. Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '

New Orleans All-Star forward would have difficulty convincing the Hawks. Davis had 34 points, including 13 in the Pelicans fourth quarter, and New Orleans beat Atlanta 111-105 on Friday night. Atlanta led 71-69 before New Orleans scored 42 points in the final period. The Pelicans took the lead with a 12-0 run that began at the end of the third quarter. Davis led the scoring but Luke Babbitt and Austin Rivers combined for 15 points off the bench in the fourth quarter. "Guys stepped up -- Luke, Austin -- and thats were going to need when guys go down," Davis said. New Orleans guard Eric Gordon did not return after leaving the game in the first quarter. Coach Monty Williams said Gordons tendinitis in his left knee flared up. Williams said he hopes Gordon can play on Saturday against Miami. Tyreke Evans had 21 points for New Orleans, which completed a two-game sweep of the season series. Davis set career highs with 40 points and 20 rebounds in New Orleans 121-120 overtime win over Boston on Sunday and then missed a loss to Toronto on Wednesday with a respiratory infection. "Im still under the weather, but I didnt want to miss any more games," Davis said. The Hawks five-game winning streak ended as they failed in a chance to move into a seventh-place tie with Charlotte in the Eastern Conference. Jeff Teague led Atlanta with 26 points and eight assists. Paul Millsap had 20 points. Led by Davis, the Pelicans outscored the Hawks 42-34 in the fourth period. Kyle is a big part of our team." Macks 3-pointer at the end of the first half pulled Atlanta into a 44-44 tie after New Orleans led most of the half. Atlanta used an 11-0 run, including seven points by Teague, to take its big lead at 67-60 in the third quarter. Babbitt entered the game late in the third quarter and made a 3-pointer to start the 12-0 run. He opened the final period with another 3-pointer to give the Pelicans the lead. A steal and jam by Davis capped the run which left New Orleans with a 78-71 lead. "At the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth quarter, our defence didnt execute," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. "Luke Babbitt came in and hurt us and of course Anthony Davis hurt us all night." Babbitts driving basket and 3-pointer from the corner pushed the lead to 93-85. Davis added to the lead, grabbing a rebound of a miss by Babbitt with his right hand and jamming the ball on the same motion. New Orleans outscored Atlanta 43-27 from the free-throw line. "We just didnt give the effort we needed to give," Carroll said. "We werent aggressive. It backfired on us tonight." Jake Arrieta threw seven impressive innings, Castro hit a two-run homer and the Chicago Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies 2-1 Friday night in matchup of last-place teams. A strange ejection occurred in the sixth inning when Hernandez was tossed by plate umpire Mark Ripperger after hitting Castro on the left arm with a fastball. There were no previous warnings, hit batters, or inside pitches. Phillies manager Ryne Sandberg also was ejected after he came out to argue. "I dont think he did it on purpose," Castro said. "Hes a good friend of mine. I see him every day in the Dominican. I dont think he would do that on purpose. He told me, Im sorry. Its not on purpose. I already know. Hes not like that. Hes not that kind of person." The umpires didnt see it that way. "In our opinion he threw at the hitter," crew chief Gary Cederstrom said. Asked if a warning shouldve come first, Cederstrom said: "I thought the appropriate action was taken." Hernandez was baffled. He threw his arms up in disbelief on the mound before walking off the field to cheers from the crowd. "I was very, very surprised," he said. "I didnt throw that on purpose. I wanted to continue to throw the ball down. I had two outs. I wanted to pitch into the next inning. I didnt throw it on purpose. I wanted to keep pitching." Arrieta (2-1) allowed two hits and no runs, tying a career high with nine strikeouts. He didnt give up a hit until Domonic Brown sliced a double just inside the left field line with one out in the fifth. "I had a good mix tonight, good velocity, good movement, good location,&" Arrieta said. Giants Josh Osich Jersey. "With those three things, youre going to have success. Its never easy to win and have success at a high level. But you do things the right way and learn, day in and day out, and try and get better at least one thing every time you come to the yard, you give yourself an opportunity to perform at a high level." The Phillies were seeking their first four-game winning streak since last June 2-6. Hernandez (2-5) allowed two runs and three hits in 5 2-3 innings. He walked Anthony Rizzo leading off the fourth. Castro then drove his ninth homer out to left. Jimmy Rollins led off the bottom of the ninth off Neil Ramirez with a double to tie Mike Schmidts franchise record of 2,234 hits. After Marlon Byrd walked with two outs, Brown hit an RBI single to right to cut it to 2-1. But Ramirez struck out Carlos Ruiz looking to end it and earn his second save. "Too little too late," Sandberg said. "We just came up short at the end." NOTES: The Cubs activated CF Ryan Sweeney from the disabled list and placed INF/OF Emilio Bonifacio on the 15-day DL. ... • SACRAMENTO, Calif. Colorado Avalanche Shop Free Shipping . -- DeMarcus Cousins did something Sunday hes not usually known for: lots of smiling. The often-scowling Cousins had 32 points and 12 rebounds, and Isaiah Thomas had 30 points and eight assists in the Kings 124-107 victory that sent the Milwaukee Bucks to their seventh straight loss. Cousins has shown increasing maturity over the last 13 games since he was called for technical fouls Nos. 14 and 15 of the season and ejected in a Feb. 25 loss at home to Houston. That left Cousins one technical from a mandatory one-game suspension. But the emotional Cousins has put a halt to complaining to referees and hasnt drawn another technical. Against the Bucks, he was clearly enjoying a big margin of victory, a rarity this season for the Kings. "Its always fun to win," said Cousins, who dodged a question about any new-found approach to the game. "My focus is going out and winning." Different approach or not, Cousins clearly had his way with the Bucks. Scoring in a variety of ways, he had 14 points in the first quarter and 21 by halftime. The Bucks were never able to contain the talented Kings centre. Cousins made 14 of 19 shots, four of six free throws and added four assists and two steals. "Now I see where he is bringing it more (upcourt) on the dribble after the rebound," Bucks coach Larry Drew said. "I was mad at my guys for not getting in his way, but you can see he looks comfortable doing it. Its just the matter of him being under control and it looks like he is and making the right plays out of it." The Kings demonstrated early they would not be overlooking the struggling Bucks. Sacramento led by 23 points after one quarter, took a 70-44 lead into halftime, and were ahead by 34 points after three quarters. "We cant go out there and lay down. Im not saying we did that tonight," Drew said. "This is one of the few games we came out and laid an egg at the very beginning. Weve actually been playing some pretty good basketball." Rudy Gay had 24 points and eight rebounds and Ben McLemore scored 15 points for the Kings, who had dropped four of their past five home games against the Bucks. O.J. Mayo scored 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter for Milwaukee. Mayo consistently connected from the outside and the Bucks shot 75 per cent in the fourth quarter in outscoring the Kings 37-20. "I told our guys that any win in the NBA is something to be happy about, but I just didnt like how we played in the second half," Kings coach Michael Malone said. "We gave up 63 points, they shot 64 per cent from the field in the second half. We had no discipline." Ersan Ilyasova had 14 points and Jeff Adrien and Ramon Sessions each added 13 for Milwaukee. Brandon Knight came in averaging 20.1 points in March, but the Milwaukee guard missed his first seven shots and finished 2-of-12 and had six points and seven assists. Milwaukee (13-57) has dropped 10 of 11 games overall. The Bucks have won only eight home games and have lost eight straight and 18 of 19 on the road, dating to Jan. 2. Their lone road win in that stretch was Feb. 24 against Philadelphia, another struggling team. Milwaukee will need to reverse the losing trend quickly if it hopes to avoid a franchise-worst season. The 1993-94 Bucks had a 20-62 record. Thomas scored 14 points and Cousins had 11 in the third quarter. Sacramento went over the 100-point mark on Thomas 3-pointer at the 2:35 mark and was in front 104-70 after three quarters. The Kings came out a little sluggish in the third quarter, but seemed to get inspired after Cousins grabbed a rebound and dribbled the length of the court and finished with a resounding dunk. The basket ignited a 16-3 run that put the Kings ahead 90-57. NOTES: Bucks rookie guard Nate Wolters fractured his left hand Thursday against Golden State and will miss the final 13 games. ... Royce White played his second straight game for the Kings, getting in for the final 48 seconds. ... The Bucks shot 27 per cent in the opening quarter and 35 per cent in the first half. ... Mayo had not played in the previous six games. Wholesale Colorado Avalanche Jerseys . • San Jose, CA (SportsNetwork. Authentic Jakob Chychrun Jersey .com) - T.J. Oshie recorded his second career hat trick and the St. Louis Blues scored a season-high seven goals in a 7-2 rout of the San Jose Sharks on Saturday. Oshie added an assist in the onslaught, and Alexander Steen and Kevin Shattenkirk posted their own four-point performances with a goal and three assists apiece. Its nice to get them, its even better just to get the two points, said Oshie. Brian Elliott, making his second start since returning from a knee injury, made 18 saves for St. Louis, which had dropped five straight on the road coming in. Antti Niemi followed up his shutout of the Ducks on Wednesday by surrendering six goals on 27 shots before being lifted in the third period. Oshies first goal came off a bouncing puck at the 11:49 mark, and the Sharks answered with two goals in a 40-second span later in the opening period. Melker Karlsson scored a similar goal to Oshies, and Joe Pavelski wristed one into the right corner from a sharp angle with 1:38 remaining. Effort just wasnt there, said Pavelski. Its disappointing, thats the biggest thing. St. Louis countered definitively with six unanswered goals. Steen matched Pavelskis sharp-angle tally on a blistering slap shot with 43.1 seconds left before the first intermission. Oshie stickhandled through the entire defense and beat Niemi with a wrister at the 5:32 mark of the second, and another goal in the final minute of the period gave the Blues a 4-2 cushion. Jaden Schwartzs stellar no-look pass from behind the net found the stick of Shattenkirk for a tap-in with 8.6 seconds on the clock. Schwartz scored during a power-play 1:17 into the third period, and Dmitrij Jaskins spinning goal less than four minutes later ended Niemis night. Oshie capped his hat trick by banking one in off backup goaltender Alex Stalocks stick and a Sharks defender with 10:44 remaining during a power play. KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Moments after James Shields struck out Rockies slugger Troy Tulowitzki, catcher Salvador Perez popped to his feet behind the plate and demanded the ball. Shields raised his hands in utter confusion. "He was like, Whats going on? This is a good ball. I like this ball," Royals manager Ned Yost said, "and Salvy is making me throw the ball back in." It took Shields a moment -- and some help from the scoreboard -- to realize he had just reached 1,500 career strikeouts. It came in the sixth inning Tuesday night as he struck out the side, highlighting Kansas Citys 5-1 victory over hot-hitting Colorado. "Normally when the umpire calls for the ball, the hitter is checking the ball or whatever, wants to take it out of play," Shields said with a grin. "And Im like, I just struck the guy out! But once they pointed at the scoreboard I knew what was going on." The only run Shields (5-3) allowed came on an RBI single by Justin Morneau in the fourth inning. Shields wound up striking out eight without issuing a walk over seven sharp innings. Perez helped him out with the bat, too, hitting a solo homer. Alcides Escobar drove in a pair of runs and Lorenzo Cain added a two-run shot to provide plenty of support. Franklin Morales (3-3) gave up four runs for the Rockies. He allowed eight hits and four walks without a strikeout in five innings, needing 99 pitches just to get that far. "I need to pitch better, man, because thats my job," he said. "I try to do the best I can, but when Im behind in the count every time I got in trouble." The Royals jumped on Morales right from the start, a pair of double plays the only thing keeping the game from getting out of hand early. Still, Kansas City was able to coax a run across on a two-out single by Escobar to take the lead in the second inning. Cain made it a 3-1 lead with his two-run shot in the fourth. It was the first home run by the Royals injury-prone ooutfielder since July 4 against Cleveland. Authentic Kevin Connauton Jersey. The ball landed in the bullpen in left field to end a drought for Cain spanning 206 at-bats. Perez added his solo shot in the fifth, the ball landing in just about the same spot. That was more than enough support for Shields, who induced a double play to escape a jam in the second inning and then left two runners aboard in the fourth during a nice bounce-back performance at Kauffman Stadium. In his previous home start, Shields allowed eight runs and 12 hits in a loss to Detroit. "He did a good job of shutting this lineup down," Rockies catcher Jordan Pacheco said. When Shields recorded his milestone strikeout, the crowd at the K gave him a standing ovation. Shields appeared to be confused by the spontaneous applause, raising his hands on the mound as if to say, "What?" Eventually, he turned around on the rubber to see his strikeout mark on the giant video board in centre field and started chuckling. After stepping off the back of the mound, Shields tipped his cap and went back to work. He struck out Carlos Gonzalez to end the inning, then set down the Rockies in order in the seventh, finishing off his night by striking out Brandon Barnes for the second time. "I knew about 10 days ago I was getting close," Shields said. "To be honest with you, I didnt even know how many strikeouts I had in the game. But that was a pretty special moment. Once I realized it, its kind of crazy to think -- 1,500 strikeouts is quite a bit of strikeouts." NOTES: RHP Tommy Kahnle threw two shutout innings in relief for Colorado. ... • ANTALAYA, Turkey -- Victor Dubuisson held off some of golfs biggest names, including Tiger Woods, to win the inaugural Turkish Airlines Open by two shots on Sunday for his first European Tour victory. Willis Reed Jersey . The Frenchman entered the day with a five-shot lead but with Woods, Justin Rose, Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter among those chasing him. Dubuisson started the fourth round with nine straight pars but had three birdies on his last four holes for a 3-under 69 that gave him a 24-under total of 264. "I am so happy as I struggled early and not managing to make my first birdie to the 10th hole. I was also watching the leader board and I could see all the good players coming back to me," Dubuisson said. "But then my caddy said to me that if I make one or two birdies near the end I would be fine, so then to hole that 25-foot putt for birdie on 17 and to make the eight-footer on the last was very special." Jamie Donaldson of Wales shot a 63 -- including a hole-in-one at the 16th -- to climb up the leaderboard and finish second, two shots back. Woods and Rose were another two strokes behind in a tie for third. Stenson, the Race to Dubai leader finished in a tie for seventh after a 69 as he continues to deal with a nagging wrist injury. "I want to give my wrist a full two days rest and just do light practice, so it is going to affect my preparations but its been like that for three weeks, so I just do the best I can," he said. Woods, who wont play again for several weeks until the World Challenge starting on Dec. 5 at Thousand Oaks in suburban Los Angeles, was looking forward to the break. "Im now hanging up the clubs for a little bit, so its going to be nice," he said. Walt Frazier Jersey . Jonathan Walters penalty 14 minutes from time after Laurent Koscielny was penalized for handball was enough to give Stoke all three points. Mark Hughes team has beaten Chelsea and Manchester United at home this season, as well as drawing with Manchester City. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had not won in his previous seven visits to Stokes Brittania Stadium. Arsenal slipped four points behind league leader Chelsea, which won 3-1 at Fulham. It is two above Manchester City, which has two games in hand. Stoke moved level with 11th-placed Hull after what was only its second win in 11 league games. Arsenal made just the one change to the starting line-up from last Saturdays 4-1 win against Sunderland, with the fit-again Kieran Gibbs replacing the injured Nacho Monreal in defence. Record signing Mesut Ozil was on the bench after missing that match due to injury. Stoke also made just one change from its 1-0 loss at Manchester City, with Steven Nzonzi replacing the injuredd Peter Odemwingie. Patrick Ewing Jersey. . Walters had the first chance of the game when he headed Marko Arnautovics header narrowly wide as both sides struggled to carve out opportunities. There was a flurry of chances at the end of the first half and Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny had to react quickly to parry a swerving drive from Glenn Whelan. At the other end, Stoke goalkeeper Asmir Begovic , who had earlier comfortably gathered a weak header from Olivier Giroud, was called into action to save Santi Cazorlas fierce effort from the edge of the area. Stoke almost took the lead at the start of the second half as Szczesny made a hash of dealing with Geoff Camerons cross, leading to a goalmouth scramble that Arsenal survived Peter Crouch also sent an acrobatic attempt wide as well as forcing a diving save from Szczesny, as Stoke continued to press. Stokes efforts were eventually rewarded as Walters flick struck Koscielnys arm and the Republic of Ireland striker made no mistake from the spot. Mesut Ozil flashed a shot across Begovics goal and fellow Arsenal substitute Yaya Sanogo then struck over the bar but Arsenal couldnt find the equalizer. Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '

    • LENZERHEIDE, Switzerland - Maria Hoefl-Riesch was taken to a hospital with a shoulder injury after crashing in a downhill race on Wednesday, allowing Anna Fenninger of Austria to move atop the overall World Cup standings. Wholesale Calgary Flames Jerseys . The final downhill of the season was won by Lara Gut of Switzerland, the Olympic bronze medallist , but the drama centred on 2011 champion Hoefl-Riesch. The 29-year-old German was taken by helicopter off the slope and then brought to a nearby hospital for treatment. "She has pain in the shoulder and back on the right side. We dont know yet but we dont expect any fracture or (dislocation)," Germany team spokesman Ralph Eder told The Associated Press by telephone. Fenninger was sixth-fastest before Hoefl-Riesch started last in what has shaped up as a back-and-forth duel for the overall title. Hoefl-Riesch crashed midway down when her skis slipped away beneath her at a sharp right-hand turn. She slid off course and became tangled in the safety nets. With Fenninger failing to win the race, Hoefl-Riesch had clinched the season-long downhill title minutes before entering the start gate. But she missed valuable points toward the bigger prize. The downhill trophy ceremony went ahead after the race with an empty top step on the podium and the German anthem playing as the helicopter landed nearby. Fenninger earned 40 points to take an 11-point lead overall. That could be enough for her first title if Hoefl-Riesch is unable to compete in the three remaining races this week. "I hope Maria can race again. I dont know how she is," Fenninger said. "My focus is on the next two races. What she is doing, I cant change." The 24-year-old Austrian will start in super-G on Thursday and the season-ending giant slalom on Sunday. Hoefl-Riesch was scheduled to start all four races at the World Cup Finals. She is chasing a second overall title after getting her third Olympic gold medal in Sochi last month. Still, no woman has won more World Cup races this season than Gut, who got her sixth victory and second in downhill. Gut won in 1 minute, 32.31 seconds, beating Elisabeth Goergl of Austria by 0.05 seconds. Fraenzi Aufdenblatten of Switzerland was third, 0.57 behind, in her final World Cup race before retiring. The womens race started two hours after the men went down the same 2.3-kilometre (1.43-mile) Silvano Beltrametti course. Isaiah Thomas posted 24 points, five steals and four assists, Eric Bledsoe tallied 17 points, seven helpers and five boards and Markieff Morris added 15 points for the Suns, who have won three in a row and seven of their last nine games. Nick Young netted 24 points off the bench to lead Los Angeles, which lost its fifth consecutive contest. Kobe Bryant sat out to rest for the Lakers. The game was tied 26-26 following a quarter of play and 51-51 at the half, but the Suns began to gradually pull away in the third. After a Jeremy Lin layup knotted the contest at 60-60, a 7-1 spurt helped Phoenix create some distance. Bledsoe nailed a 3-pointer and drove in for a layup and P.J. Tucker capped the mini run with a layup to stake the Suns to a 67-61 advantage. Phooenix upped its margin to 87-77 after three and an 11-3 burst during the early stages of the fourth created more separation. Cheap Adidas Calgary Flames Jerseys. • Miami, FL (SportsNetwork. Marlins Yadiel Rivera Jersey .com) - Dont tell the Miami Heat the Philadelphia 76ers arent playing to win. The Sixers, despite having just eight healthy bodies, rallied from a 23-point deficit in Miami and stole a 91-87 decision away from the Heat to earn back- to-back victories for the first time this season. Michael Carter-Williams scored 20 points, handed out five assists and recorded six steals for Philadelphia, which was coming off Sundays win over Orlando and earned just its fourth win in 27 games. We have good momentum, Sixers rookie Nerlens Noel said. Were confident. Luc Mbah a Moute donated 19 points and K.J. McDaniels added 13 off the bench for the victors. The Heat, perhaps looking ahead to a Christmas Day-showdown with LeBron James and the Cavaliers, took their foot off the gas pedal in the second half, as they shot just 27.8 percent from the field after the break. Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 23 points, while Shawne Williams netted 17 in the loss, Miamis third in its last four games. It doesnt get worse than this, Wade said. You have to find a way to win a game like this. Its on us. The Sixers worked their way back from the huge deficit and used a 12-0 run in the middle stages of the fourth quarter to take their first lead since it was a 2-0 game. Jerami Grants three-point play broke an 82-82 tie with 5:55 remaining, and Robert Covington added two free throws to give Philadelphia a five-point lead. Wade answered with consecutive jumpers, but the Heat missed six consecutive shots with the chance to tie or take the lead over the final two minutes. Mario Chalmers and Luol Deng both missed 3-point tries with under 16 seconds to play, Noel grabbed a big defensive rebound, and Covington sealed the surprising win with two free throws with 7.0 ticks to go. The Heat led by as many as 15 points in the first quarter, 18 in the second and held a seemingly comfortable 57-42 cushion at halftime. Williams personal 9-0 run early in the third quarter stretched Miamis lead to a game-high 23 points. Williams hit a 3-pointer, threw down a putback slam, made two free throws and added a layup that gave the Heat a 69-46 advantage. They had 20 points from that point on, Sixers head coach Brett Brown said. We found something extra to steal a fantastic win on the road. The Sixers recovered by forcing seven turnovers over the final eight minutes of the quarter. They ended the frame on a 15-5 surge, and Carter-Williams 3- pointer cut the deficit to 78-73. Game Notes Miami turned it over 22 times ... The Sixers recorded 17 or more turnovers for the 10th straight game ... Heat forward Chris Bosh (calf) missed his sixth straight game ... The three Indians who qualified for the games will compete as "independent" athletes, rather than represent their country, after their national body failed to schedule elections before the start of the Olympics on Feb. 7. The Indian Olympic Association was suspended by the IOC in December 2012 for electing tainted officials, notably secretary-general Lalit Bhanot, who spent more than 10 months in jail on corruption charges related to the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi. The International Olympic Committee said last month it would lift the suspension once new elections are held. The Indians have set their general assembly for Feb. 9, two days after the opening of the Sochi Olympics. "Following the executive board decision in December, the IOC is considering all necessary arrangements for the Indian athletes who have qualified for the Sochi Games to take part as Independent Olympic Participants under the Olympic flag," the IOC said in a stattement on Thursday. Marlins Dan Straily Jersey. The trio includes Shiva Kesavan, a 32-year-old luger who will be appearing in his fifth Winter Games. Kesavan told Indian media that not being able to compete under the national flag was "shameful and pathetic." "It is a sad and embarrassing situation that Indian sport has been put in," he said. "People around the world know about the failure of our systems and about corruption and bad governance in sports." Under pressure from the IOC, the Indian body amended its constitution last month to ban corruption-tainted officials from running for election. Had India not complied, it would have become the first country expelled from the Olympics since South Africa was kicked out more than 40 years ago. The IOC has made provisions for athletes to compete under the Olympic flag at previous games. Athletes from the former Netherlands Antilles and marathon runner Guor Marial of South Sudan competed as independents at the 2012 London Olympics. • HOUSTON -- The Houston Rockets had trouble hitting shots and finding a rhythm through the first three quarters against New Orleans on Saturday night, doing just enough to hang with the Pelicans. Jalen Brunson Jersey . In the fourth, the Rockets -- led by James Harden and Jeremy Lin for a second straight game -- were able to finish things off. Dwight Howard had 24 points and 18 rebounds, and Harden scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter in the Rockets 107-98 comeback victory. "It was winning time," Harden said. "I was struggling the first three quarters and couldnt find the rhythm when my teammates needed me the most. We got the ball moving and Jeremy made a couple of good threes. Chandler (Parsons) had a good put back and then Dwight got an and-one. Everybody picked up the intensity a little bit." It was the second straight game Houston rallied in the fourth for a win and marked the first time since December 2009 that the Rockets have won three straight games within the division. Houston beat San Antonio on Christmas and topped Memphis on Thursday night. "We didnt shoot it well," Houston coach Kevin McHale said. "I know at one time I looked up, I thought we were two for 19 from the three-point line. It felt like they made every three. They were 10 for 22. ... We found a way to win, but it was another in a long line of games that feel like you are pulling teeth." Howard was 10 of 12 from the floor, helping to keep Houston in the game through the first three quarters with 20 points in that span. "I just tried to play out of the double team," Howard said. "When they doubled, I tried to make the good play, and when they didnt double, I tried to make the better play for myself." Parsons added 19 points and seven rebounds, and Terrence Jones had 17 points and eight rebounds to help Houston win its third straight game and snap New Orleans winning streak at two. Lin had all 10 of his points in the fourth quarter after scoring 14 of his 18 points in the fourth against Memphis. The Rockets made three of five 3-point attempts in the fourth quarter after going 3 of 21 from long range in the first three quarters. "Its definitely not the ideal plan or ideal strategy," Lin said. "Im thankful Coach McHale let me keep going. I was able to finally get a little bit of a rhythm in the last two games. I have to do a much, much better job and be more aggressive in the first three quarters." Houston was 25 of 32 from the free-throw line, while New Orleans was 6 of 8. "Anything I say is going to get me in trouble," New Orleans coach Monty Williams said about the free-throw difference. "OK, so lets just leave it at that. Thirty-two to eight." Ryan Anderson had 22 points and 12 rebounds for New Orleans. Anthony Davis added 18 points and 16 rebounds, and Tyreke Evans had 16 points and nine assists. "I think we really didnt execute down the stretch," Evans said. "It was a tough loss. I think we played hard and fought, but in the fourth quarter, our execution wasnt that good. They hit some big shots. ... They were shooting it from far out, and it kind of tough, but they made their shots, and we cant do anything about that." After New Orleans opened a 92-88 lead with 4:54 left on Davis alley-oop dunk, Jones started Houston on a game-ending 19-6 run with a three-point play. Following Davis jumper, Lin tied it at 94 with a 3-pointer with 3 1/2 minutes remaining. Then, Harden put the Rockets ahead for good with a 3-pointer to give with 3:14 remaining. "We were in it the whole game, and we were giving ourselves a chance to win the game," Davis said. "We tried to send a couple of guys at Dwight and give him different looks. He found Jeremy Lin in the corner for a three and then James came down and hit a three. They just made big shots, and we didnt execute at the end. We have to come out and know what were running and execute." NOTES: New Orleans guard Eric Gordon sat out his second straight game because of a right hip contusion. ... Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca. Hi Kerry, In the first period of Mondays Canucks-Kings game, Tom Sestito of Vancouver was assessed a five-minute penalty for fighting, a two-minute penalty for instigating and a 10-minute and game misconduct for repeatedly punching unwilling combatant Jordan Nolan. Im a Canucks fan, but Im disgusted by these one-sided attacks and think it was the right call. Nevertheless, I was surprised that the five-minute penalty was called "fighting," as "fighting" penalties are usually given to both players involved in the fight! How come the one player fighting major isnt called for other one-sided attacks like the infamous Emery on Holtby incident on Nov. 1? In your response to that debacle you rightly emphasized the importance of referees separating the players quickly, but didnt mention they could assess a five-minute fighting penalty to one player only! Ryan McCormick,Vancouver, BC Ryan: As you pointed out, the correct penalties were assessed to Tom Sestito in his one-sided altercation/attack against Jordan Nolan. Since Nolan was an "unwilling combatant," the onus and responsibility was on Sestito to stop punching the LA King or be subjected to Rule 46.2 as the "aggressor" (the aggressor in an altercation shall be the player who continues to throw punches in an attempt to inflict punishment on his opponent who is in a defenseless position or who is an unwilling combatant). Tom Sestitos actions clearly qualified him as the aggressor in this altercation. I scored the punch count six direct hits by Sestito to the head area of Nolan. Jordan Nolan, on the other hand, was undeserving of a penalty on the play because he did nothing in response to being continually punched by Sestito; even to the point of keeping his gloves and stick in his hands. Each player is penalized based on their actions and response during an altercation. The penalties assessed to Tom Sestito became accumulative when Sestito dropped his gloves immediately after an end zone faceoff, travelled the short distance to Jordan Nolan and began unloading punches. Based on the rules, these actions qualified this altercation as a fight and clearly identified Sestito as the instigator (Rule 46.11). In thhe November 1 altercation you reference, Ray Emery left his goal crease and charged the length of the ice to fight with Brayden Holtby. Luka Doncic Jersey. The Washington goalkeeper reluctantly dropped his gloves and was forced to defend himself when referee Francois St.-Laurent was unable to intervene and restrain Emery from the deliberate attack. The punches that Holtby threw in self-defense were deserving of a five minute fighting major. Brayden Holtby would not have been assessed a five minute fighting major if he had turtled or failed to respond in the same manner as Jordan Nolan did last night in L.A.  As you see, Ryan, it is possible for the referee to assess a fighting major to one player only. If that were the case it would be in addition to the appropriate instigator penalties. Aside from the additional minor penalty for leaving his goal crease on November 1, Ray Emery received the same penalties that Tom Sestito was assessed in last nights game; two minutes plus a 10-minute misconduct for instigating; five minutes for fighting; and a game-misconduct as the aggressor.  There is no question that Vancouver intended to send the Kings a strong message and push back from their previous meeting of January 4, which sidelined Canucks goalkeeper Roberto Luongo. The fuse was lit!  It only took nine seconds before Zack Kassian was penalized for dragging Dustin Brown around with his hockey stick firmly hooked between Browns legs after chatting the Kings captain up prior to the opening faceoff. Tom Sestito only lasted a second on his first shift of the game for speed bagging Jordan Nolan who, by the way, should have been penalized for charging Henrik Sedin. A timely penalty call against Nolan would have been a perfect opportunity for the refs to send a message of their own in an effort to establish some control and to bring the temperature down early. It was a gift handed to the men in stripes that was ultimately rejected! It became a constant uphill battle for them from that point in the game. In the end, it was Dustin Brown that once again did the most damage by scoring the only goal of the game early in the third period for a Kings win. I dont think the expression "time heals all wounds" will apply when these teams meet next on April 5 in Vancouver. All eyes will be focused on that matchup; including the refs as well. Cheap Nike Chiefs Jerseys Chargers Jerseys China Wholesale Raiders Jerseys China Cowboys Jerseys China Cheap Giants Jerseys Hoodies Cheap Eagles Jerseys Free Shipping Cheap Nike Redskins Jerseys Lions Jerseys China Green Bay Packers Jerseys For Sale Wholesale Vikings Jerseys China Panthers Jerseys China Saints Jerseys China Cheap Buccaneers Jerseys Free Shipping Wholesale Cardinals Jerseys China Cheap Nike Rams Jerseys 49ers Jerseys China Wholesale Seahawks Jerseys China Cheap Nike Bears Jerseys Bills Jerseys China Cheap Nike Ravens Jerseys Cheap Falcons Jerseys Hoodies ' ' '

    • OTTAWA - Eugene Melnyk is already predicting a return to the playoffs for the Ottawa Senators this season. Twins Jake Cave Jersey . The NHL teams owner said he sees no reason why this years lineup wouldnt have the capability to be one of the more competitive teams in the Eastern Conference. "I think you can pretty well predict what were going to have on the ice," Melnyk said Tuesday. "If everybody just plays to their potential I think its a great team and is going to be very competitive and will be a playoff team, but they just need to play to the level that we know that they can play." The Senators missed the playoffs last season and finished 11th in the Eastern Conference, but Melnyk is confident the Senators will finish in the top eight this year. "I think we have the potential to be in the playoffs and be competitive throughout the whole year," he said. "Once the playoffs start anything can happen. Thats the first step, lets get into the playoffs and let it run from there." There will be some significant changes to the Senators this year after the trade of Jason Spezza and the addition of David Legwand, Alex Chiasson and prospects Nicholas Paul and Alexander Guptill. Curtis Lazar, 19, will also be pushing to make the roster. "I think were going to be very, very competitive," said Melnyk. "Last year was not the kind of year we want to have this coming season. Everyone knows their roles and Im just hoping we stay away from injuries and were all set to go." Melnyk feels the Senators have a better schedule this season, adding he senses a renewed energy from players who are eager to put last season behind them. Ottawa dealt Spezza to the Dallas Stars last month. He was drafted by the Senators with the second overall pick in 2001 and had spent his career in the nations capital. The team has yet to name a new captain. Melnyk said he understood and accepted Spezzas request to be traded. "I spoke to him as far back as five years ago and he was already starting to talk about potentially moving and this time around he was looking for a change and I totally understand what he wanted to do," he said. Melnyk was in town to announce that the Senators and the Senators Foundation have surpassed the $100-million mark in community contributions and initiatives. "Were at the top, weve won the Stanley Cup in that area," he said of the teams charitable efforts. "I know what everybody else does, we talk about it, and they come here to see what weve done to get a sense of it. Theyre just in awe of the organization and how well we are organized. Its a machine." Melnyk capped off the afternoon with another charitable contribution as he and Senators defenceman Erik Karlsson took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise awareness for ALS. Twins John Curtiss Jersey . SALT LAKE CITY -- Kyle Korver and Paul Millsap made themselves right at home in their return to Utah. Just when Atlanta seemed almost incapable of winning a road game, Korver and Millsap broke the hearts of the fans that cheered them for years to finally help the Hawks break through. Korver scored 26 points and Millsap added 23 against their former team as the Hawks outlasted the Utah Jazz 112-110 on Monday night to snap a six-game losing streak. Millsap said there were times were he almost felt like he wasnt playing on the road "I played in this gym for seven years. I felt real comfortable," he said after helping the Hawks end a 10-game road losing streak. Most of the Atlanta starting lineup spent significant time playing for the Jazz. DeMarre Carroll (2011-13), Korver (2007-10) and Millsap (2006-13) all received warm applause when they were introduced before the game. "It was like a reunion, a family reunion. I saw a lot of familiar faces," Millsap said. But familiarity didnt make it a cakewalk. Korver made all four of his 3-point attempts in his old stomping grounds but never felt totally safe. The Hawks blew a 17-point lead and it was like re-run Korver had seen dozens of times. "I was a part of so many games when the Jazz were down at halftime, just like tonight, and then came roaring back. The crowd gets behind them," Korver said. Jeff Teague had 14 points and the Hawks used a late 16-4 run to salvage a win at the end of a gloomy six-game road trip. The Jazz led 96-93 after Trey Burkes 3-pointer, but Korver started an 8-0 run with a 3-pointer and then a contested jumper to beat the shot clock. Trey Burke made a layup before Millsap countered with two free throws and Korver added two of his own to seemingly put the game out of reach. Trailing 109-100 with 26 seconds left, the Jazz made it interesting with 10 points in the last 16 seconds. "In the second half, we made a significant change but it was a little too late and they made some big shots down the stretch," said Burke, who scored 21 of his 23 points in the second half. Marvin Williams had 18 for the Jazz, who have lost six of their last seven. Carroll had 11 points as the trio of former Jazz-players-turned-Hawks combined for 15 of the Hawks 16 points in the game-clinching run. The Hawks led by 117 points in the first half before the Jazz rallied in the third quarter. Twins Joe Mauer Jersey. Utah outscored Atlanta 36-19 in the period and capped an 18-7 run with Haywards rebound dunk just before the buzzer for an 80-78 edge. "We didnt respond to their pressure and it turned into a heck of a game," Atlanta coach Mike Budenholzer said. Millsap missed five games with a badly bruised knee and then struggled a bit in his first two games back in limited minutes. He regained his All-Star form against his former team, which decided to go with a youth movement and let him sign with the Hawks in the off-season. Millsap was 7 of 14 from the field and had eight rebounds to help the Hawks, who had a tough time matching up with the Jazz inside. Utah outrebounded Atlanta 45-34. The Hawks, desperately trying to hang on to the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot, finally started to see things click in Los Angeles on Saturday before losing 109-108 to the Clippers. "We felt like we needed this big-time. We felt like we fought hard in the previous game and just came up short. I hope this will a good momentum boost going forward. Teague, who missed a key free throw against the Clippers, missed two down the stretch again but made four to help Atlanta avoid its 15th loss in the last 16 games. The Hawks are 3 1/2 games in front of the Knicks in the race for the playoffs. The Jazz just finished their own nightmare of an extended road trip, losing five of their six games before outlasting Philadelphia 104-92 in the finale. The Hawks allowed an average of 113 points on better than 50-per cent shooting, including 44 per cent from 3-point range. But the Hawks made 13 of 29 from beyond the arc to get the win, which is their fourth straight at Utah after dropping their previous 15. "The Jazz have so much tradition and its like one big family here. Once youre part of the Jazz, you never leave all the way," Korver said. • The Edmonton Eskimos took a hit to keep their perfect record intact against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday. Reds Tanner Rainey Jersey . Slotback Fred Stamps sustained a hit to the chest late in the fourth quarter of the Eskimos 26-3 victory Thursday night and was taken to hospital for precautionary tests after experiencing shortness of breath following the game. He was released from hospital and returned to Edmonton Friday morning, according to the teams web site. He will continue to be monitored by medical staff. Defensive end Marcus Howard also broke his left thumb Thursday night. He will be out indefinitely. Reds Jose Siri Jersey . Pressley missed all of last season with Cincinnati because of a knee injury, but the 5-foot-10, 249-pounder had been expected to fill a need on Clevelands roster. Stitched Reds Jerseys .com) - Former FBI director Robert Mueller said his investigation found no evidence that the NFL saw the elevator video of Ray Rice striking his then-fiancee before the tape was released in September. Its being reported that embattled Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling (yes hes still the owner) has hired four private investigation firms to dig up "dirt" on the NBA owners, as well as the past Commissioner David Stern and current Commissioner Adam Silver. Sterling has retained investigators as part of his overall litigation strategy. Recently, he filed a lawsuit against the NBA in response to his lifetime ban and his forced sale of the team.  Part of that lawsuit alleges breach of contract. He is alleging that the NBA did not follow its own rules when it imposed its very dramatic and unprecedented punishments on him. To support that argument, he wants to be able to point to instances where the league took a much softer approach against other owners who may have committed transgressions of their own. Ultimately, Sterling wants to show that the leagues application of the NBA Constitution and its rules has been wholly inconsistent and that he was unfairly and too harshly treated. The NBA will of course argue that it has not breached its rules and that no other owner has ever said or done anything that has so profoundly and adversely impaacted the league, its reputation and goodwill. Reds Joe Morgan Jersey. Remember the NBA will focus on the impact of Sterlings statements and not what he said. In light of this distinction, Sterling will have a difficult time finding an owner who has inflicted similar damage on the league. Of course, this investigation reminds us that Sterling is looking to embarrass the league. His lawsuit will give Sterling the opportunity to depose Silver, Stern and a number of owners all with a view to getting the league to air its dirty laundry. In part, he may hope that the pressure of litigation and disclosure under oath may encourage the NBA to lift its lifetime ban and let him keep his team. Will that happen? At the outset, the NBA would have mapped out all possible consequences of forcing Sterling to sell his team, and litigation would have been at the top of that list. The league is prepared to litigate and may sue him right back for interfering with the sale of the team and the business of the league. The NBA is not going anywhere and it will fight. The NBA also knows that Sterling has serious credibility issues. And that is buying the league time with its fans. Jerseys NFL China Cheap Adidas NHL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys From China Cheap MLB Jerseys Wholesale China Jerseys NFL Jerseys China Discount Soccer Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys China China NCAA Jerseys Cheap Cheap Nike Dolphins Jerseys Cheap Nike Patriots Jerseys Cheap Nike Jets JerseysCheap Nike Bengals Jerseys Cheap Nike Browns Jerseys Cheap Nike Steelers Jerseys Cheap Nike Texans Jerseys Cheap Nike Colts Jerseys Cheap Nike Jaguars Jerseys Cheap Nike Titans Jerseys Cheap Nike Broncos Jerseys ' ' '
